Shandi K. Mawokomatanda is a United Methodist minister – a certified candidate for Ordained Ministry in the Baltimore-Washington Conference; He has served as a Local Pastor in the New England Conference at Grace Linn Memorial UMC, Maine (2005-2007). Prior to coming to Boston, he served as a Chaplain Intern at George Mason University through the United College Ministries of Northern Virginia (UCMNV), an ecumenical campus ministry organization (2001-2004). And prior to attending seminary, he was the Director of Funds Distribution and Community Building at the Lycoming County United Way, Pennsylvania (1999-2000).

Shandi now serves as a Research Assistant and Program Administrator for the Religion and Conflict Transformation Program. He is a Th.D. candidate as Boston University’s School of Theology in the area of Global Ethics. He is also a candidate for the BTI Certificate in Religion and Conflict Transformation, and for the Graduate Certificate in African Studies offered through the Boston University African Studies Center.

Shandi has served as a Teaching Assistant for Rodney Petersen in two courses offered at Boston University: Engaging Conflict Well; and International Conflict Transformation: Religion and the Ministry of Reconciliation. His research interests are in the area of Ecclesiology and Political Ethics, with a special interest in the church’s engagement in the Ministry of Reconciliation and Peacebuilding in Africa’s Political Economy.
