Living in Nature: Religion
& Science in Dialogue on the Environment
This
film is a thoughtful analysis of some of the negative attitudes
toward Nature in the scientific and the religious communities,
particularly in the countries that have become highly industrialized.
The emphasis of the film is on the important shifts in thinking
in both communities, resulting in part from constructive dialogue
between them in recent years.
Featured
speakers include noted scientists, theologians, religious leaders,
educators, philosophers, activists, and policy makers. This
film is intended to stimulate similar interdisciplinary dialogue
in college, university, and seminary classrooms, as well as
in study and discussion groups in religious and other settings.
Talks and interviews recorded at a 1995 conference presented
by the Boston Theological Institute, together with the American
Association for the Advancement of Science. Film produced in
1997.
